FBN Media Production is an independent film company based in Manila, founded by producer-director Jed Medrano. Driven by a profound passion to bring socially aware films and filmmakers to the global stage, championing bold storytellers who create cinema that resonates deeply and sparks meaningful conversations. Our narratives often delve into the lives of women, children, indigenous peoples, and the complexities of social injustices woven into the rich tapestry of Filipino culture and experience.

We specialize in producing and line producing both fiction and non-fiction films across various formats, including feature films, shorts, and series.

Established during film school and formalized in 2014. Our name, FBN, stands for Film, Broadcast, New Media, embodying our holistic commitment to storytelling across diverse platforms, embracing the ever-evolving media landscape.

Jed Medrano

JED MEDRANO

Founder and CEO

Jed is a storyteller, producer, and educator based in Manila. She wrote, produced, and directed the award-winning short films I Love You, Piolo and Senior. Senior notably received the Special Jury and Audience Choice awards at QCinema IFF 2014.

A graduate of the University of the Philippines Film Institute with a Master's in Media Studies (Major in Film) and a B.A. in Advertising and Public Relations, Jed founded FBN Media Production in 2014. Her early producing credits include Zig Dulay's Scarecrow (Best Film, Brussels FF 2015) and Baggage (Best Film, Vesoul FF 2018). Renowned as a line producer of numerous independent films to local and international acclaim including Gomburza, Liway, and The Revolution Knows No Gender.

Committed to continuous growth, Jed has further refined her craft through prestigious talent labs and programs like Busan Asian Film School, Full Circle Lab Philippines (Creative Producing), ASEAN-Rok Fly Post Lab, EAVE On-Demand Marketing Masterclass, Asian Contents and Film Market, Platform Busan BIFF, and TorinoFilmLab. She shares her knowledge by teaching film production at Mapúa University and La Salle College of St. Benilde, Manila.

Lucky De Guzman

LUCKY JAY DE GUZMAN

Supervising Producer

Ljay brings a truly unique background to FBN. A graduate in Radiology Technology, he chose to pursue his interest in the arts over science, beginning his industry journey in 2008 as an Assistant Wardrobe at TV5. His extensive experience includes working twice with acclaimed director Lav Diaz on Norte, Hangganan ng Kasaysayan (Norte, The End of History) and Mula sa Kung Ano ang Noon (From What is Before).

He climbed the ranks to Production Manager, notably serving as a Location Manager for nine years at GMA7 News TV on popular shows including Imbestigador, Wagas, Wish Ko Lang, Toda One I Love, and One of the Baes. His extensive experience encompasses working with diverse directors and production companies across film, television, and advertising in various capacities. Currently, he is undergoing training in line production and operations. He is known for his strictness on-set, yet always quick to smile and laugh.

Sol Garcia

SOL GARCIA, LPS

Cinematographer

Sol is a cinematographer based in the Philippines. Being part of the last generation who were able to shoot with celluloid, her UP Film Institute thesis, "Tagapagligtas" shot with 35mm shortends was chosen as the Philippine representative to the 2006 Kodak Film School Competition. She gained experience shooting short films on various formats using 35mm, 16mm, and digital. While her favorite projects are horror/thrillers, she is versatile, having worked on advertising, documentaries, music videos, VR, and films of all types.

Notable films she lensed, "Ang Panggagahasa Kay Fe" (2009), "Six Degrees of Separation from Lilia Cuntapay" (2011), and "Bambanti" (2015), received recognition at local and international film festivals. Driven by a passion for creation, she aims to bring fresh concepts to life. Currently, she is exploring directing online commercials and preparing her feature film entry for the 2025 Cinemalaya Film Festival. She enjoys time with loved ones, nature, and watching cat videos.

Lars Magbanua

LARS MAGBANUA

Production Designer

Lars Magbanua's academic background is in Marketing and Advertising, but her professional journey began as a photographer and graphic designer in Makati. Her passion for film, which intertwines various art forms like literature, photography, and music, led her to attend industry workshops. These experiences opened doors to the film industry, where her design skills earned her a role as a production designer for an indie film. Although she initially aspired to be a director, she found her true calling in production design and has since embraced this path wholeheartedly.

She has worked across multiple studios, contributing to films, TV shows, and online series. Some of her notable works are: 100 Tula Para Kay Stella (2017), He Who Is Without Sin (2020), Boy Foretold By The Stars (2020), Lyric and Beat (2021) and Wattpad's University Series (2023-2026).

Sue Aspiras

SUE ASPIRAS DAVIS

Writer & Assistant Director

Sue Aspiras is a multifaceted film practitioner whose career spans over 16 years in film, television, and the commercial industry. Known for her sharp organizational instincts and ability to run a tight, efficient set, she has worked across roles as assistant director, director, script continuity supervisor, and video editor.

Her short film Si Aponibolinayen at ang mga Batang Lumilipad was a finalist at the 2018 CineFilipino Film Festival, followed by her debut feature Homecoming in the 2019 edition. She has contributed to several notable projects, including the animated cult classic Saving Sally (2016), the historical fantasy series Maria Clara at Ibarra (2023), and My Neighbor the Gangster, which screened at the Far East Film Festival in Udine this year.

Sue is a proud member of the Guild of Assistant Directors and Script Continuity Supervisors (GADSS), and continues to explore the intersection of storytelling, structure, and set dynamics in every production she joins.
